Scientific Group Meeting in Alexandria (10 January 2018) 


The teachers belonging to the Scientific Group met in Alexandria to review the progress of the coming SLM Master and plan its implementation. The discussion focused on: scheduling and distribution of teaching loads, assignment and coordination of the teachers to the different curricula courses and the teachers’ exchange (mobility) process that will be implemented in the two hosting universities Alex U and Cairo U.


Second participatory workshop and special mobility strand in Sassari (22-26 January 2018)


Organized by NRD-UNISS, in collaboration with Leeds University and Thessaloniki University, a second participatory workshop was held in Sassari on 22nd - 24th January 2018. All teachers involved in the project met to share further experiences and discuss SLM topics  in order to increase their skills in teaching by confronting each other.
















Among the Egyptian teachers, 8 teachers coming from Cairo, Damanhour and Zagazig University spent other 2 days visiting the ARPAS (Environmental Protection Agency of Sardinia) specialized in meteorology, agriculture and monitoring and presenting case-studies related to their activity to Italian colleagues and students.




Third Steering Committee Meeting in Cairo (20 February 2018)

The project partners met in Cairo to discuss issues related to the successful implementation of the project activities. The following items were discussed: Interuniversity Master accreditation decree, equipment purchase, preparation of joint Master material, first project conference. In particular, strictly linked to the late accreditation decree issuance, partners agreed in asking the EU a 12-month no-cost extension in order to reach the objective of the project to develop a new inter-university postgraduate Master on Sustainable Land Management (SLM). In this regard, a particular focus was given to the “training of teachers: strengths and weaknesses” underlining that the training of teachers has been concluded, all mobilities have been carried out and all e-learning courses uploaded in the Moodle Platform.


Master accreditation (12 March 2018)

The procedure related to the accreditation of the Joint Master in Sustainable Land Management has been concluded. On March 12th, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the President of the Higher Council of Universities issued the Ministerial Decree no. 856 granting the scientific degree to the Joint Master in Sustainable Land Management using the European Credit system (ECTS).
